Sewing/Quilting Teachers (on contract)
Are you passionate about handmade clothing or crafts? Are you great at sharing your enthusiasm and your skills? Are you a people person, and able to engage with people of different ages, education levels and backgrounds? If so, you could be who we’re looking for!
The Stitchery is a modern fabric store and sewing lounge in Port Moody. We run sewing classes and social events, and sell carefully selected fabrics and supplies for dressmaking, quilting, and embroidery.
About the role:
We are looking for qualified people to teach sewing classes and/or camps at our studio on a contract basis.
Your experience and skills:
- Sewing experience in garment making, quilting, and/or needlework
- Able to create a welcoming learning environment for children and adults
- Prior teaching or group leadership experience
Classes/camps you teach will be decided in conversation with the store owner by proposing your own curriculums and/or taking on some of our regular curriculum. Preparation for teaching and class handouts will be your responsibility.
What we offer:
In return you’ll have the chance to work with a fast-growing venture and significant part of the Port Moody community. You’ll be part of a motivated and personable team of customer care and sewing experts. You’ll receive store discounts and a flexible schedule that fits your work life rhythm.
Please contact Jill Schuler at jill@thestitcherystudio.ca with details of your experience and examples of classes you might teach.
