Longarm Machines

We are happy to answer all your questions about longarm quilting.

Longarm Machine Rental:

Our Simply Sixteen Longarm Machine is available to rent in our store. First time renters will need to book a Beginners Longarm Lesson before renting.

Preparing your quilt: Your batting and backing should be 4"-6" larger than your quilt top on all sides. Make sure your quilt is well pressed with no creases. Seams in your backing can be pressed open to reduce bumps. If you have seams at the edge of your quilt top it is a good idea to baste around the edge of your sandwich at 1/8" in. Trim all loose threads from your top.

We will be available to answer questions but please note that renting our longarm machine is self-directed.

Please note you will be standing to quilt so wear comfortable shoes, take plenty of rest breaks, and book shorter sessions as needed.

There are no refunds on longarm rentals or lesson bookings.

As an estimate a baby quilt may take 2-3 hours while a queen size quilt may take 5-6 hours or longer depending on the complexity of your quilting design.
