Make your own winter coat or jacket with help from our experienced teacher. This class will focus on creating a quilted coat from design to finishing details.
In Session One we will:
- explore a variety of inspiration
- choose your coat pattern and design/choose your quilt pattern
- learn how to make our quilt and coat designs work together
- plan our quilted pieces ready for our coat construction
In Sessions Two and Three you will learn:
- how to cut your pattern pieces to line up your quilt design
- how to construct your coat
- seaming and finishing techniques
Sewing Level: Experienced Beginner. Attendees should have completed some previous dressmaking and/or quilting projects prior to taking this class. Please enquire before registering if you need advice on the skill level of these classes.
Includes: 10 hours of instruction (3 sessions), a copy of the pattern, and a complimentary Sewing Time registration (for 3 hours of open sewing in our studio). Supplies extra.

Instructor: Jill Schuler has been teaching and sewing for over 20 years. She has a degree in costume and fashion design from Edinburgh University. She loves to sew her own clothes when she has time, but mostly they are for other people. Her favourite way to relax is with tea, cake, and a cosy fireplace.
