Tailored Shirt Class

A button-down shirt is the perfect skill builder for sewists.

In this class you will learn all the tips and tricks to a great fitting buttoned shirt with optional details. Learn:

  • how to construct a shirt to your measurements
  • simple adjsutments for getting a good fit
  • tips on working with your chosen fabric
  • how to sew professional buttonholes
  • how to construct a button stand and placket
  • how to attach a collar and buttoned cuffs
  • how to sew a pristine patch pocket

Sewing Level: Advanced. Students are encouraged to take some of our other garment making classes prior to this class or have completed other garment projects.

Includes: 12 hours of instruction, a copy of your chosen pattern, and one free Sewing Time session to cut out your pieces or complete your shirt. Supplies extra.

Instructor: Caroline Cheng has been sewing for 21 years and has been working in the film industry since 2016. She has a diploma in both fashion design and costume design. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for sewing with others, and hopes to inspire others to not be afraid of trying it!
