Stitch your own advent calendar to celebrate the festive season. Learn:

  • making pockets
  • sewing neat top-stitching
  • quilting the calendar
  • tips on finishing with binding

Sewing Level: Confident Beginner. Basic sewing machine experience required. This class is designed for those who have sewn a few projects and are ready to try something with more techniques.

Location: 80 Mary Street, Port Moody

Includes: 4 hours of instruction and the calendar panel. Other supplies extra.

Please note that while you might not fully complete your calendar in the class time all techniques for sewing your calendar will be covered in class.

Our store stocks a large selection of fabrics for your backing and binding for you to purchase from for this class. Please note our store does not open until 12noon on Sundays.

FAMILY TICKETS FOR THIS CLASS: To book a family ticket for an adult and child to attend together please add 2 registrations to your cart and use the discount code "family" to get the 15% discount. Please note if you would like to register for an unaccompanied child please check with us before booking.

Frequency: Once for 4 hours.

Instructor: Leah is a local sewist with many interests. She is a trained traditional kiltmaker, quilter, longarmer, costume designer and dressmaker. Her grandmother taught her embroidery and crewel work as a child. She enjoys spending time with her kids at various highland dance and bagpiping events.

 

Cancellation Policy

Full registration payment is required to reserve your space in a class or event. Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made more than 10 days in advance of the class or event will receive a full refund to store credit. For cancellations made less than 10 days in advance: A store credit of 50% of the fee will be given if more than 4 days notice, or if 4 days or less notice from the class time is given then no refund or transfer will be issued.
