Learn to craft a hand-stitched leather travel journal, ready to take on your next adventure!

This class is suitable for beginners with some prior hand sewing experience. No leather experience needed. Learn:

  • shaping leather
  • saddle stitching techniques for function and aesthetics
  • leather cross stitching for customizing your piece
  • sewing pockets
  • attaching straps
  • designing for durability and extended use
  • how to use a basic set of leather tools for good results

Sewing Level: Beginner. Suitable for beginner to confident beginner who have some hand-stitching experience (e.g. needlecraft, hand sewing, etc.).

    Location: 80 Mary Street, Port Moody

    Includes: 6 hours of instruction, and all supplies and tools are included.

    Instructor: Alexander Hewitt has been working with leather for 13 years. He's made everything from rugged bags & wallets, to necklaces & carved poetry, all from a small set of tools he's taken around the world, meeting different styles and masters across nearly 60 countries. He loves sharing ideas and adventures with others, and helping them try new things!


     

    Cancellation Policy

    Full registration payment is required to reserve your space in a class or event. Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations made more than 10 days in advance of the class or event will receive a full refund to store credit. For cancellations made less than 10 days in advance: A store credit of 50% of the fee will be given if more than 4 days notice, or if 4 days or less notice from the class time is given then no refund or transfer will be issued.
