Raphael Oliver is a small conversational pattern inspired by Baroque gardens and their beautifully illustrated plans. Emphasising their structure and perfect symmetry, the design features an elegant geometric background, while shadowed trees in the foreground add depth and dimension. Hand-drawn in fine liner pen using a detailed hatching technique, it reimagines the craft of a 17th century garden engraving. From Egyptian and Roman influences to Persian miniature gardens and Japanese zen landscapes, it reflects an evolution of beauty, structure, and creative freedom cultivated through the ages.
