Ready to take on a bigger sewing adventure? Join us to create your own Kelly Anorak by Closet Core Patterns—a stylish, practical raincoat with a classic silhouette and modern attitude.
Designed for transitional weather and made to go wherever you do, the Kelly Anorak is a rewarding project for sewists ready to stretch their skills and add a little adventure to their handmade wardrobe.
With guidance from our experienced instructor, you’ll work through the construction of your coat, learning techniques you can take into your next sewing adventure.
In this class you will learn how to:
- construct a coat including gusseted pockets
- work confidently with weather resistant fabrics like waxed canvas
- sew a two-piece cuffed sleeve
- use interfacings, and professional seaming and finishing techniques
- install snaps
- navigate the construction of a more complex garment with confidence
Sewing Level: Advanced. This is a more involved garment project and is best suited to sewists who have completed several garment projects and are comfortable with their sewing machine and basic garment construction.

Before class:
Please pick up your pattern and cut out your paper pattern pieces before the first class. If you're unsure how to prepare, ask us—we're happy to help you get ready for your project.

Pattern Sizing: sizes 0-32 (up to 60" bust)

Frequency: Once per week for 3 weeks
Instructor: Ana has experience sewing everything from foundational garments to unique special projects like LED costumes and even pet clothing. Sewing is her happy place, learning is her constant companion, and teaching is something she truly cares about.
